Northville High is a Class A high school that competes in Division 1 (Michigan's largest high school designation) with enrollment of about 2,300 in grades Freshmen through Senior. It is one of the largest high schools in the state of Michigan.

Beginning in 2008, the Mustangs moved to the Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA), which combined the 12 schools from the Western Lakes Activities Association (WLAA) and 10 schools from the Kensington Valley Conference (KVC). Waterford Kettering and Waterford Mott will also join the KLAA form a 24-school association. The association is divided into two conferences of 12 with each conference having two divisions of six schools. Northville competes in the Kensington Conference Central Division with: Novi, Livonia Stevenson, South Lyon, South Lyon East and Salem.

In 2017, the KLAA changed, when 10 teams left the league.  The association divided the 14 remaining schools into two divisions (Black Division-Wayne, John Glenn, Canton, Plymouth, Salem, Livonia Churchill, Livonia Franklin and Gold Division-Northville, Novi, Hartland, Brighton, Howell, Livonia Stevenson, Grand Blanc).

In 2018, the KLAA expanded to 16 schools when Grand Blanc left the KLAA and Belleville, Dearborn, and Fordson joined.  This resulted in the creation of two divisions of eight schools each (West Division-Northville, Novi, Canton, Plymouth, Salem, Brighton, Hartland, Howell and the East Division-Fordson, Belleville, Dearborn, Wayne, John Glenn, Livonia Stevenson, Livonia Franklin, and Livonia Churchill)

We are proud of the rich tradition of Northville Mustang Basketball. We strive to teach our current players about past accomplishments so that, while always focusing on creating new memories, we continue to appreciate contributions of our past teams, coaches and players. Northville Basketball, past and present, has achieved tremendous success over the past 40+ years.
